On the 8th November 2016 a professional photographer came to our college to give an inspirational talk about his working life. Carl Sukonik is well known for his photography of Food and Drinks as well as PR and Events. He talked a lot about his likes and dislikes and what we have to look for when taking a good photo. He explained that when working with events you need to be on the ball and prepared as anything could occur and they aren’t going to stop and pose for the photographer. He also stated that he prefers to work outside of studio as he thinks he creates better photographs, but when becoming a photographer you need to be ready to move out of your comfort zone and work in an unfamiliar area.
I personal like his food and drink side of things as its simple but effective. It shows his uniqueness and his true passion of photography. I feel like he has reached his real comfort zone by creating amazing foods look even better. Throughout the photographs located on his website you can see that he tries different approaches towards his pictures and it isn’t the same over and over again what shows variety and that he isn’t worried about trying new things.

He established that he works around 90 hours a week what must be exhausting. But when you find something you enjoy you don’t see it as work anymore but as fun. Carl also said that he is always doing new things so it never gets dull and repetitive.
